Maurin goes to great lengths to make sure that her uncle will pay for his crime, but the defense attorney, helped by a corrupt judge, prolongs the trial for over 15 years. In the end, the sentence frees Vicente of all wrong doing.

Maurin, gravely affected by the turbulent trial that she has faced for so long, is about to make a heavy decision: either she will accept the judge’s sentence or she will take justice into her own hands.
